Since It's Raining

Since it's raining,
we'll sleep easily through the afteroon,
count raindrops on glass windows,
and throw silly limericks at each other.

Since it's raining,
we will run and skip outside,
and catch crystal raindrops on our tongues.

Since it's raining,
I'll make cocoa with you.
We'll tell each other funny jokes
and stories of when we were children.

Since it's raining,
I'll always remind myself of how special you were,
how you always laughed
and never frowned.

Since it's raining,
I'll remember
how you always listened to my worries
and always kept my secrets well hidden.

Since it's raining,
I'll never forget the day you left,
like the sun that chases rain clouds away.
