Benjamin Abrahamovich

What About Me?

I figured it should be said

You took her in with no more than one question
One question
With one answer

"How is she Ben, what do you think?"
"I do not like her, not at all."
The answer was replied swiftly and with ease
It was as if the situation had been mapped out years in advance
Leaving my defense lost in a trance

"Give her a try, please?"

The answer
It was another question
A question that would never be answered
At least not until it was too late

Only two weeks' warning
And not a chance to react
My seven year old brain was completely out of whack

With two weeks passed the church bells rang
The vows were exchanged
All were happy

All but one

How you didn't notice
Is beyond me
In not one picture will you find me smiling

You know I care about you
I want you to be happy

But what about me?
