Never Lost

We crowded around the photo album
Eager to see those baby pictures.
We were ready to uncover what had
Been lost for so long.

Everyone prepared for
Teases and laughs,
While chubby grins and
Wacky outfits appeared
At birthday parties
And family dinners.

Those memories lost and forgotten
Brought back within
A single picture.
The fading tint of the photograph
Contrasting with the everlasting memories
Held in one image.

The wrinkled edges
And rusty smell
Bring back reminiscences
And recount the moments where
Tears fell from laughing too hard

Did anyone realize,
After countless years of
Separate lives
The very same could be relived
Revived, and experienced once again?

Should I ever forget a moment,
A treasure lost in time,
The memories captured are
Priceless.
The photos will remind me
That some things will never be lost.
