Lilli Janney

Ice Queen

She cannot go a day
Without criticizing someone.
She must always tell the truth,
Even if it hurts.
They call her the Ice Queen.

She is as cold as ice,
With no feelings of remorse.
Her honesty stings and sears
Like salt in open wounds.

Some people can’t handle her candor,
So they call her a bitch.
She tells them she could care less,
That their criticisms slip off her.

But she doesn’t want to be ice anymore.
She wants to melt away;
Show her soft side.
But she can’t for she knows
They’ll take advantage of her vulnerability.

Because she is known to be as cold as ice,
With no feelings of remorse,
But they are tired of being stung and seared.
It’s her turn now.
