Let Go

Insecurity is a luxury that I once possessed,
You feel worthless and jealous and everything in your world is just plain messed.
Every move you make is being watched like a hawk,
And all you can hear is what you think people talk.
You just want to curl up and entirely disappear,
Maybe forever, maybe just a year.
Your parents are clueless, your brother’s too young,
To understand the melody of life that is sung.
You walk with a straight back of fear and resentment,
Although the emotions you feel are far from contentment.
All your friends see through you like a piece of clear glass,
The true you is waiting for the right moment to pass.
You will make it someday in the vast place we live,
And your life will become whatever you piece together or decide to give.
Life is too short to live by a code,
Or even something you set yourself in as a mode.
Love yourself for who you are,
And one day I guarantee you will go far!
