More Than Just A Game

Picks and Screens are part of the game
Basketball is my middle name
Playing it, is what I do
Dribbling till my hands turn blue,
Shooting alone or with the team
Writing up the new game scheme
Naming plays high and low,
The game is played with a flow
Keep the momentum
And keep the crowd
I just want to make my parents proud,
Just holding the ball opens my mind
The feeling it gives me is hard to find
When I have the ball I control the court
This is more than just a sport
Whoever has the ball the game is theirs
The crowd starts roaring with boo’s and cheers
I hold the defense on my strings
I drive to the basket doing crossovers and things
I got the defense on their heels
Playing my defense with block and steals
The opposing team has no chance
As I make their defenders stumble and dance
The court my home
So it’s all I need to get in the zone
Playing basketball in college is my dream
But it starts with practice, and playing like a team.
