Fear Of Darkness

When light and time is lost
Darkness comes and fills the void
Created by the absence of joy
And replaces it with dread.
The light of day is swallowed
Into the bowels of the night
Leaving a soul with naught
But the feeling of despair.
Without the light to lead,
With only dark to dread,
The soul digs deeper
Into its bottomless hole.
Within the hole is an emptiness
That surrounds the soul of trepidation
Bringing a feeling of loneliness
And the hope of life is lost.
