Will Marino-Nosack

Rainy Night

Looking through the clear pane of glass,
The window streaked with raindrops,
Racing down to the bottom.
The blurry outline of the world behind them.

Falling from the sky,
A blanket of water,
Envelops the world.

Droplets gathering speed,
Until they are broken,
By the solid ground below.

It exists on its own.
Alone.

I stand alone in the downpour,
As it sweeps me away from the world.

It sinks into me,
I feel its weight and warmth.
It becomes part of me.

Its sister Lightning,
Opens her arms,
And spreads them wide,
Releasing her flash of beauty.

Its brother Thunder,
Takes a godly breath,
And shouts out to the world,
So all will know of his
Magnificence.
