I Am From A World...

I am from a world of hate,
            Where violence destroys us;
I am from a world of love,
        Where friendship unites us.

I am from a world of doubt,
            Where despair is never forgotten;
I am from a world of hope,
        Where optimism is ceaseless.

I am from a world of sadness,
            Where people are deceased in war;
I am from a world of happiness,
        Where peace is without end.

I am from a world of cruelty,
            Where populace are tortured and wronged;
I am from a world of compassion,
        Where the homeless are given shelter.

I am from a world of envy,
            Where money controls the entire;
I am from a world of generosity,
        Where grace and goodwill are customary.

I am from a world where lives are lived for self-alone;
I am from a world where only a life lived for others, is a life worthwhile.
