A Colorful Life

Green
A walk in the woods
Moon filtering the through the trees
Silvery forest

Walking down the street
Watching as the flowers fall
Onto the sidewalk

White
A hotel nearby
Cold white lights warding off night
Not yet time to rest

The shining legions
Marched proudly into our town
To burn and pillage

Red
Season of giving
We get together to sing
The sun sets so soon
Blood filling the streets
Absolute silence broken
By a baby’s cry

Black
Embrace the darkness
Let your troubles wait for the
Next fresh sunlit day

The dark alleyway
Binding, blinding shadows of
Terror and despair

Blue
The drab gray buildings
In an ocean of concrete
Below azure skies

The high diving board
Closing my eyes, jumping down
Cool, silent water
