Day's Journey: A Series of Haikus

Sunrise

Five chimes from the clock
Beautiful, elegant light
from a hanging lamp

Dew

It is dry in here…
I start the humidifier
moisture on my skin

Morning Breeze

Back, forth, back again
The quiet fan is steadfast
In its boundless task

Tree

The open pantry
Stocked with meats and fruits and cheese
Makes me tall and strong

Sap

I spilled olive oil
all over the kitchen wall
It runs down slowly

Glacier

Drifting cubes of ice
Collide in the lemonade
melting in my glass

Waterfall

The roaring faucet
water, descending with speed
striking silverware

Tornado

My vacuum bellows
as it engulfs filthy flecks
struggle is futile

Wave

Playing in the tub
I drop the duck, it dives deep
rippling water

Lightning

The light broken light bulb
Began to spark as I read
Go now, seek refuge!

Nightfall

Carpet of navy
pearly marbles entangled
within its threading
